Sacred Heart School
Friday will be our last day of school. It will be a full day, unlike the public schools, so transportation home from school will be needed. Please plan on picking up your child at 3:10 p.m. We will be walking to Arlington Park for the day, so make sure your child has proper foot wear.
Wolfgang Stueck and Alex Mukka have been provided a campership to Camp Tekakwitha from The Council of Catholic Women. The council has been providing camperships for the past several years. Congratulations, Wolfgang and Alex, and enjoy camp!
This week at Sacred Heart, the student council sponsored two “care to be casual” days. The students and staff were allowed to wear sweatpants, shorts, etc. if they brought in either $1 or a canned good item. The shorts still had to meet our dress code length, which is within one inch of the knee. All the donations will benefit the Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center. The student council has involved the school in many worthwhile things throughout the school year.
The school had its end of the school year Mass on Wednesday. The teachers were involved in the planning. We have much to be thankful for this school year. The celebration of Mass each week is one of the items we are especially thankful for here at our Catholic school.
Shawano Community Middle School
Shawano Community Middle School will hold its eighth-grade promotion Thursday. Students are to report back to SCMS at 4 p.m. to get ready for the ceremony, which begins at 4:30 p.m. A reception will be held from 6-6:30 p.m., and the day concludes with a dance from 6:30-9 p.m. If students are leaving to eat with families, the latest return time to school is 7:30 p.m., so please plan accordingly.
Summer school will run from June 16 to July 18 (no school July 4). We are looking forward to yet another successful summer school.
It has been another great year here at SCMS, and we have enjoyed working with you and your students. Please remember to keep the lines of communication open, and remember that we need to all work together as staff and families for the success of our students here at SCMS. Have a wonderful summer, everyone!
